Assistant Quantity Surveyor

People Group is currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of one of our Construction Subcontractors, to assist the Commercial team with the construction of multiple projects in and around London. This Subcontractor specialises in Groundworks, RC Frames, and External Works. This is a permanent role primarily located in Feltham, with regular Monday – Friday working days, and has a base salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for preparing estimates for material costs, and valuations, and maintaining cost controls. You will be working alongside the Commercial team and reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate should understand the supply chain, have experience working on projects, and be able to deliver them.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your principal roles and responsibilities will include:

Analysing construction costs, drawings, and blueprints.  
Creating and preparing estimates for material costs.
Creating tender documents, such as bills of quantities, rates, or schedules.
Writing contracts under the supervision of the Quantity Surveyor.
Identifying commercial risks due to market fluctuation.
Preparing and pricing valuations, valuing dayworks and maintaining cost control.
Producing bills of quantity/activity schedules for payment purposes.
Assist site teams with procurement of materials or comparisons.
Produce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes.Essential Criteria:

Live within a commutable distance of Feltham.
Must have Quantity Surveying Experience.
Effective analytical thinking skills.
Strong experience and understanding of Grames and Groundworks.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Be available to start within the next 3 weeks.
