Responsibilities:

As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students understanding of the English Language and its rich literacy heritage. Your responsibilities will include:

* Planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover a range of English language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

* Introducing students to a diverse selection of literary works, including novels, poems, plays and non-fiction texts, and guiding them in exploring themes, characters, and literary techniques.

* Providing instruction and support in grammar, vocabulary, and language conventions to enhance students’ written and verbal communication skills.

* Facilitating discussions and activities that encourage critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of texts, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature.

* Implementing assessments, such as essays, presentations and creative projects, to assess students’ comprehension, expression and proficiency.

* Collaborating with colleagues to integrate literacy skills across the curriculum and support students’ holistic development as confident and effective communicators.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Enhanced DBS Check (or be willing to complete one)

* Have QTS or relevant teaching qualifications.

* Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Additional Details:

Hours: This is a full-time position working 5 days on a supply basis, M-F - 8:30am – 3:30pm

Start: September 2024

Salary: £140 - £170 a day, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
