M&E Design Manager - Norfolk - Permanent

A multi-disciplinary design company are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Design Manager to be based in their office South of Norwich.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding office for a reputable business. They provide specialist design and technical support across their M&E and Construction Group business. Their works spans all construction sectors, with their multi-disciplinary team able to deliver a design lead service, to de-risk projects from ground up.

They operate in various sectors including education, retail, commercial, industrial, offices, medical and research & development.

As the M&E Design Manager you will provide design and commissioning co-ordination support, design and peers reviews, building physics and embodied carbon advice on various building and engineering projects, whilst supporting the Contractor with site checking, verification and validation.

As the M&E Design Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
· Assess tender drawings and specifications for compliance to Building Regulations, Statutory, Health, Environment and Safety Legislation and Requirements.
· Evaluate pre-contract quotes and technical submissions, reporting on shortfalls, omissions, risk and opportunities.
· Provide technical assistance to in-house design team.
· Appraise pre-tender building performance (e.g. BREEAM) assessments and advising construction team and responsibilities.
· Appraise subcontractor design information against design codes, standards, employers requirements and buildability requirements.
· Assess record drawing and O&M information and manage changes.
· Check output design information.
· Review and evaluate energy performance assessments and certification.

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
· Relevant design and/or installation experience gained with a multi-disciplinary consultant, contractor or developer design team.
· Ideally experience within both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
· Ideally degree in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services.
· ACICSE, MIET or similar.
· Working knowledge Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, CIBSE Guidance, BSRIA Guidance, British & European Standards.
