Job Description
SoulCycle is hiring a Buyer to support the SoulCycle business in regards to the development, merchandising, buying and inventory management of multiple product categories, helping to achieve both margin and sales goals within the department. This role sits onsite at the SoulCycle HQ 4 days per week. 
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a buying office, be bright, energetic, detail-oriented, responsible and will perform their duties with dedication and commitment.  The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those a buyer must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned. 
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute and initiate seasonal strategies as determined by leadership team
Responsible for Merchandising line plan development
Work closely with the team while building the product assortment, provide prepared ideas and point of view on editing process
Gain a strong understanding of the SoulCycle customer: review new deliveries and sales, and communicate “learnings” back to the team
Competitive knowledge: understand and translate trends and nuances in lifestyle/fitness trends
Identify and research new suppliers/ factories/ markets to ensure new product needs are consistently met.  Constant monitoring and evaluation of vendor performance
Must have strong experience in garment costing; ability to negotiate these costs and comparing costs from style-style and vendor-vendor
Must have a strong understanding of the product develop life cycle -trims, lab dips s/o and hand feel approvals
Expertise in time and action calendars as it pertains to production and warehouse deliveries
Maintain buy plans to ensure accuracy, act as the point person for internal and cross functional teams
Respond to Marketing and PR requests and inquiries
Review historical performance at the category and key item level
Partner with Planning on the determination of receipt plans, margin and IMU goals, and flow strategies to drive assortment execution
Review with Planning the analysis of business by style, delivery and category to understand prior performance and develop future goals
Manage purchase order process. Maintain accurate receipts, selling and on order spreadsheets
Report on sales trend of business (best and slow sellers, style analysis, etc) to share with team
