Deputy Head Vet Nurse. Bermondsey London. £36k per annum, DOE.
You’re a good nurse, ambitious, and care about your job. Being a nurse is a calling, it is all you ever wanted to be.
Working long hours, production line consults, little or no time with the patients, and profits being the ultimate driver, this isn’t what you signed up for.
You want to step up but the opportunity doesn’t exist where you are. You are not being utilised, feel frustrated, and are thinking about moving but worried you will get more of the same.
What if we knew of a practice where you are working with a team of like-minded individuals, a place where 30-minute consults are standard, a place where you have the autonomy to thrive, and where patients are always placed first above profits?
Luckily we do and this one is hiring.
A modern, independent, beautifully designed award-winning cat clinic based in London is looking for a Deputy Head Nurse to join their team. They provide GP services as well as feline referral services in internal medicine, ophthalmology, and dentistry.
This is very much a destination practice, a practice customers travel across London to get to. Not many practices can boost dozens of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews on Google but this one can. A practice that doesn’t cut corners, a loyal customer base who appreciate what you do, and a team of experienced vets and nurses working in a relaxed friendly environment together doing what is right for the patient and practice.
Don’t let me tell you how great it is, I will let their Head Nurse do that.
"I feel the special thing about working here is that you are allowed to nurse to the highest standards of patient care, in an environment that is always striving for excellence whilst advancing your skills."
You will be responsible for helping to support and lead the nursing team while ensuring efficient running of the practice and maintaining the clinic's excellent standards of patient and client care. The role involves regular nursing duties including anaesthesia, nurse consultations, surgical recoveries, and inpatient care.
Ideally, you will have three years of nursing experience but somebody who is empathetic, wants to progress and a keen team player is what matters the most.
It's Monday to Friday here, 40 hours, falling between 8 am-8.30 pm Mon- Fri with no OOH’s. Weekend duties are 1 in 4 with lieu days given in the week.
So, what’s in it for you: £36k per annum, DOE. CPD is actively encouraged and so is further learning, a CPD budget of £500 per annum and 3 days a year of paid CPD leave should take care of that. RCVS and VDS covered, 28 days hol, discounted vet fees, and a discretionary annual bonus. Relocation and sponsorship are available also.
This is city living, with everything London has to offer on your doorstep. Close to London Bridge Tube station, you can be shopping or ‘hitting the town,’ within 20 mins of finishing your shift.
Choosing a new practice is a big decision. Most importantly, you want somewhere you can stick around. You don’t want a job, you want a career and a place you can call home.
So, what’s next?
Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
Be a more relaxed fulfilled nurse
